Dear Rowing Friends,

Rowing Association Daventria organizes for the 3rd time in succession the INTERNATIONAL ROWING EVENT OVERIJSSEL 2011.

It is a journey of rowing over 200 km in four stages of approximately 50 km starting in Deventer Thursday, May 19, 2011 and ending in Deventer on Sunday, May 22, 2011. The tour takes you on the best parts of the river IJssel, the river Overijsselse Vecht and the channels of Twente.

During the day you're on an adventure with many teams from home and abroad and in the evening you will have a good dinner and a glass of wine while pleasantly chatting about the that day stage.

Sunday is a great welcome in Deventer and of course a delicious meal will be served. It is a unique event that has no equal in the Netherlands. We would love it when your club delegates at least one team.

We provide a wonderful rowing event.

The course:

Day 1: Deventer – Zwolle – Dalfsen
via: Rivers IJssel (8), and Overijsselse Vecht (9)

Day 2: Dalfsen – Hardenberg - Gramsbergen
via: River Overijsselse Vecht (9)

Day 3: Gramsbergen – Almelo – Goor
via: Channel Almelo-De Haandrik (5) and Twente Channel (6)

Day 4: Goor – Zutphen – Deventer
via: Twente Channel (6) and River IJssel (7)

Teams
A maximum of 20 teams may participate, 10 teams in C4 boats and 10 teams in C2 boats. A C4 team consists of at least 6 persons, 5 in the boat and 1 in the car ashore. A C2 team consists of at least 4 persons, 3 in the boat and 1 in the car ashore.
Individual subscription is allowed, we help you to find your team. Once teams are formed they stay together during the event.
All costs are paid by the captain of the team, the team must ensure the mutual settlements


Boats
We assume that you will bring your own boats. However, teams from abroad may conditionally and exceptionally rent boats.


Meals and Overnight
Each individual participant can use the joint accommodation facility (50 people) "The group accommodation Wolfskuil" in Ommen, see www.wolfskuil.nl. Here is a daily social gathering. You can sleep, shower and make wonderful evening walks and there will be an evening program organized. The Wolfskuil is approximately 1 km from the railway station located in Ommen. The teams have to travel every evening with their own cars to the central facility overnight in Ommen.

There will be food and drink provided. There is an evening dinner, breakfast, and during breakfast you make your packed lunch. The catering (dinner) is provided by 'de wolfskuil', see their website for more information.

Then, after all teams have completed the tour, there will be a "farewell dinner" to which everyone can participate. For participants who make use of the central lodging facility the farewell dinner is in the package. Other participants must register separately.


Costs
The participation fee for a C4 team is € 420, - per boat
The participation fee for a C2 team is € 280, - per boat
Rent of a C2 € 80, - per boat
Hire a C4 € 120, - per boat

For food and lodging, you must register individually and the package costs € 155, - per person. For this you get three nights, with breakfast and lunch and dinner four times. The drinks are on your own account.
Participants who only want to participate in the farewell dinner, pay € 20, - per person.
The costs will be deducted from the team leader.
